Reverend Shandell Berryman Howell

Reverend Shandell Berryman Howell, originally from Prospect, Virginia, is an inspiring leader and passionate advocate for her community.  As the beloved Pastor of New Witt Baptist Church in Farmville, Virginia, she embodies authenticity, unwavering faith, and a heartfelt commitment to serving others. 

From a young age, Reverend Howell felt a divine calling to lead with purpose and integrity. Her musical talents flourished at Virginia State University, where she sang as an Alto in the renowned Virginia State University Gospel Chorale. Touring churches and schools nationwide, she spread joy through song and inspired countless hearts along the way.

Reverend Howell’s family life is a source of joy, as she shares her life with her wonderful husband, James Howell, and their son, Maddox. She proudly embraces her role as a bonus mother, cherishing the bonds of family that enrich her life.

In 2019, she answered her profound call to preach, dedicating herself to the ministry with passion and grace. Her commitment to pastoral care continues to resonate, as she has trained numerous leaders and ministry teams that thrive to this day.

A passionate storyteller and writer, Reverend Howell published her first book in 2022, titled hunGer tO leaD: The Desire to Live Up to God’s Expectations of a Victorious Leader. Through her words, she encourages others to embrace their own leadership journeys.

With over 25 years of experience as a dedicated servant leader, she has successfully managed hundreds of employees and third-party suppliers while mentoring aspiring professionals. Currently, she serves as a leader at a Fortune 100 company, where her expertise in risk and process management has led to significant improvements and efficiencies over her 14-year tenure.

Reverend Howell holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Leadership and is actively pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Christian Leadership at Liberty University. Her commitment to growth and excellence is matched only by her gratitude for God, her loving parents, family, and friends. As she humbly states, “I am a mascot for God!”
