Our Mission
At New Witt Baptist Church, our mission is to glorify God by equipping believers, reaching the last, and serving our community with love and compassion. Rooted in biblical truth, we strive to:
- cultivate meaningful relationships with God and one another through authentic worship and fellowship,
- teach and inspire spiritual growth through sound biblical instruction and prayer,
- and extend Christ's love by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of our community and beyond.
With renewed focus, we declare that New Witt Baptist Church will be a beacon of hope, a place of healing, and foundation for future generations.
Our History
New Witt Baptist Church was established in 1867 in Farmville, Virginia, Prince Edward County. According to Prince Edward County Clerk records, on May 24, 1906, the deed for the church was signed by church trustees George Hardy, Dennis Flournoy, S.F. Saunders, Berry Watson, and Dennis Morris. Some time later, Reverend Jacob Randolph preached the first sermon and, on June 9, 1929, the first funeral for Lucinda Redd. CLICK HERE to learn more.
